About brewery:
Rohozec Brewery is located in Malé Rohozec, near Turnov, less than a hundred kilometers northeast of Prague. Beer has been brewed here since 1909. During the First Republic, the brewery was among the 20 largest breweries in Czechoslovakia. After nationalization, it was included in the Východočeské pivovary n.p. group. After 1989, the brewery ran into problems and was rescued in 2004 by the current owners. They secured new investments and renewed the traditional Skalák and Podskalák brands. Rohozec produces beer using classic technology. 3 basic raw materials are used for the production of beer: water, malt and hops. It is the selection of these raw materials that significantly contributes to the final quality of the finished beer. The brewery uses water from its own wells, from springs in the Vazovecký údolí. The malt is Czech, Pilsen type, which is bought from nearby malthouses, and the famous Saaz are used, which gives Rohozec beers their characteristic pleasant bitterness.
